The Creole Nature Trail is an All-American Road and one of the last designated scenic byways in the United States. At 180 miles long, there is plenty of unique terrain to explore and wildlife to see. This family-friendly trail has 26 miles of natural Gulf of Mexico beaches. There are marshlands full of fish, crabs, alligators and over 400 bird species. Although alligators avoid close contact with human, a 12 foot alligator can snap its jaws with a crushing 2,115 pounds of force. Like every animal on the Nature Trail, we ask that you treat them with respect.
